I always think of the U.S as a Trojan horse that was designed to fool us all into thinking we had defeated the forces of facism and a bright future lay ahead.
It seems that they merely replaced the military uniform with a tie and briefcase and fine tuned the language but the underlying goals have remained more or less the same as it ever was.

You should not really have a gun unless you have something that your allowed to shoot at. Nearly all governments in nearly all democratic and for that matter non democratic countries are chock-full of cunts and if everyone had guns and decided to give it the full Timothy McVeigh we'd quickly descend into an even more fucked version of humanity than the one we already have on the planet.

I mentioned my love for the first amendment, freedom of expression, so I’ll add my love for the second amendment, the right to bear arms. Everyone should have a gun, just in case the government become cunts; a commendable stance.

Most of the Americans I meet are pleasant, reasonable people.
But they all think they are exceptions... I can't really comment on this, as most of the Americans I meet are pleasant, reasonable people...

Texans and New Yorkers, they really not my blood boiling. Especially Texans, met plenty who were totally incapable of even coming remotely close to comprehending how other humans might have a different worldview and outlook to life than theirs.
Dealt with plenty of them from all over who were genuinely upset and shocked that Darwin was on the £10 note. Weird unquestioning upbringings some of them must have.
Met a few Hawaiians, they were great people.

My lengthy experience of dealing face to face with Septics on a daily basis for quite a few years was that they were either really very pleasant overenthusiastic decent types but extremely thick or they were just total cunts with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
The fact that they are able to speak a frankly bizarre variant of English is unfortunate as it means that they are able and willing to convey their total cuntness 24/7 if they are of the latter variety. Far easier to deal with the cunty foreign cunts who can't speak English, far less annoying than American cunts who take pleasure out of being as big a cunt as possible.
Dealing with them has put me off going there. For life. Imagine a country full of them? Fuck that.

I'm contracted to an American firm a the moment and they keep trying to impose their corporate culture on the locals - and me.
They get short change either way. They even fly some bog noises every month or so to promote all this bonding/teamwork shit. Saw the first one a couple of years ago and have managed to be working from home on every subsequent visit.
They don't like it one bit. I simply shrug my shoulders and say "So terminate my contract and get someone else in then." They definitely don't understand THAT stance.

My friends must be lying to me about their origins, I guess.
Slavery was very important to English colonies well before the gold/silver rushes unless you mean the original Spanish one in 16-17th century.
The gold/silver rushes also spurred on but came after the initially Drive West, which is generally more important to the country than the rushes, which the exception of specific communities and regions.

I'm working in Alabama right now.
What's not to like?...Hunting/fishing community.
House prices quarter of the price in UK. Less tax on your wages. Cheaper living costs (not health insurance).
Allowed to have a gun. I love it here.
